| Is horoscope matching a must before marriage? |

Being an Astrologer with years of experience in Vedic Astrology, I suggest for horoscope-matching before marriage; however, I never support the practise of either approving or rejecting the horoscope matching outright based on mere Kuta agreement or based on Moon sign or Sun Sign (or match simply based on Nakshatra). |
I always opine that more importance must be given to the general strengths traced in the Birth-Charts of a boy or a girl while matching the horoscopes rather than simply relying onSun signor Moon sign (or Nakshatra) alone! In experience it has been found that mere presence of a simple marriage Yog (or blessings received to enjoy married life due to past birth good Karma) in the horoscope of a boy or a girl blessing them to enjoy their married life happily. |
However, supposing if a happy married life is traced in a boy’s (or in a girl’s) horoscope and if the same is not present in a girl’s (or in a boy’s) horoscope then the matching of horoscopes based on Sun sign, Moon sign (or Nakshatra) would be a meaningless attempt. On doing so, the couple may sail through rough weather and face disagreement and disappointment in their married life although the Kuta matching score-card may show 10 out of 10 OR 36 out of 36…..! |
Astrologers in south India especially in Kerala believe that a boy’s Papa value must be greater than a girl’s Papa value; they also give importance to Shudha Jatakam, Dasa overlap compatibility, Equal Dasa compatibility etc which are least followed in other parts of country. |
I have seen number of couples who were given green signal on getting 34 and above out of 36 OR 08 and above out of 10 suffering untold miseries in their married life; similarly those who were warned of disappointment in married life on getting 15 and below out of 36 OR 04 and below out of 10 enjoying their married life majestically. |
| Why? |
The reason is that while matching horoscope, most of the astrologers simply ignore to weigh the general strength of horoscope. If a boy has positive marriage Yog present in his horoscope then he will definitely enjoy his married life unless he is married to a girl with least marriage Yog present in her horoscope. |
Astrologically speaking, horoscope matching between a boy and a girl is perhaps the very last step but utmost important feature in Vedic Astrology after taking all the other considerations like their educational qualifications, physical appearances, employment, financial and social status of their family, cultural or economic background, Kula, Gotra etc. etc. |
In experience, it has been found that many marriages ending up in severe disappointments even after getting cent percent Kuta agreement based on Moon sign or Sun sign (and Nakshatra); similarly, it has also been found that many golden chances (meritorious horoscopes) slipping away from the hands of parents due to the rejection through snap-shot matching based on the aforesaid agreement even by so called ‘famous’ astrologers! |
At the time of matching horoscopes does anyone pay importance to know in detail whether the boy or girl will be adamant, dishonest, absent-minded, idiot, lazy, short-tempered, uncaring, irresponsible, talkative, loose-talking, overconfident, disloyal, non-cooperative, arrogant, disrespecting, superstitious, lavish, faithless, smoker, alcoholism, impotent…………….etc & etc? What the all they want to know is whether the horoscope matching is there or not on the basis of Moon sign or Sun sign or Nakshatra basis. |
I strongly recommend the parents who rush to astrologers for matching horoscopes for their beloveds to consult such astrologers (of course not necessarily me) who also consider the general strengths of horoscopes while matching alliance. I also request the parents to come out of the false impression that astrologers who charge more are expert hence they know much more and their decision are binding one. |
